We’re at about the mid-way point in the Farmers’ Market season, nearing the end of the spring greens and moving on into our main season crops.

harvest time
It’s been a busy month with harvesting and the last of the markets. Now the garden is tilled, the root cellar is full, squash is curing, rye is ready for milling and the straw is in the barn.
First Markets
First outdoor markets of the season this past weekend. Great turnout despite the rain in Smithers Saturday, but the sun shone for Hazelton on Sunday.
Plenty
The bulk of the harvest is just about in and ‘put by’ for the winter ahead. Times of plenty.
Farmers’ Market
The market display is a lot of fun at this time of year when there’s lots of colours to play with.
